Interior Awards 2016

We were really excited to work with the awards branding for the 2016 AGM Publishing Interior Awards.

The Interior Awards is an awards ceremony and networking event that celebrates creative excellence in interior design and architecture in New Zealand.

2016’s design was a really fun transformation of the awards branding (which has historically been quite high art) to a more cartoon-like & light hearted approach.

A fantastic hero logo and set of cute iconography was developed by AGM’s designer André Kini, which made us very excited to expand upon this and bring it to life with animation.

The design process for the awards evolved from the idea of opening up and viewing the inside of a kiwiana ‘doll house’ to actually creating a rotating model of an imaginary commercial building.

We combined a balance of these two ideas, with 'rooms or cubby holes’ from the doll house idea featuring on the projection-mapped arch at St Matthew-in-the-City. and a walkin loop that peeked inside our model commercial building’s interior. Each sponsor featured in a ‘room’ that represented their field of business.

We also added drama to the architecture of the arch with a ‘glitch’ into the BIM world (BIM being a specialised construction software).

“Each year we challenge the Mulk team to go one better to make the awards night memorable to those guests who have attended every one for the past 10 years.”

A unique way to feature Sponsors.

The canvas for the event was a projection mapped arch and a giant rear projection screen.
